Welcome Aleesha Kashif, SVUDL's New Program Specialist

Aleesha is driven by a mission of understanding and helping others, with a lifelong passion for teaching diverse learners through varied forms of instruction. She volunteered in high school as a Teacher's Assistant, worked in Applied Behavior Analysis in college, and most recently served as an Education Specialist and Special Education Department Chair at KSJC.

She enjoys learning different ideologies and contributing to innovative solutions. Inspired by an International Relations course, Aleesha studied International Business with a specialization in Management Information Systems and a minor in Political Science at San José State University (SJSU), seeking to understand how people from different fields and parts of the world communicate and collaborate. Her educational and professional journey has all been in service of her career goal of pursuing law.

Aleesha has always been an active participant in her community. As Managing Editor of her high school newspaper, she advocated for higher educator pay, highlighted local businesses, and educated students on food waste solutions. As part of Generation of Aspirational Leaders at SJSU, she presented solutions for local air quality reform and student legal support in pitch competitions. In her free time, she enjoys kickboxing, the beach, and time with friends and family.

Aleesha looks forward to working with students, teachers, and partners of SVUDL to continue empowering students to pursue their goals and dreams. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
